Chinese hackers accused of breaking into India’s power grid

According to Recorded Future, the hacker group, known as TAG-38, used ShadowPad, a type of malware formerly affiliated with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the Ministry of State Security, to execute perform the attack.

Mr. Jonathan Condra, senior manager of Recorded Future, said that the method of using devices and internet of things (IoT) cameras that hackers use to perform intrusions is unusual. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and Indian authorities did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Beijing government has always denied engaging in malicious cyber activities.
