Crime inside the mortgaged car

In the journey to lift the veil of secrecy surrounding the case missing his taxi driver gentle, crime-solving force Hoa Binh Provincial Police chose to break through the password to find the victim’s car. The right direction of investigation has led to the truth of the crimes of inhuman addicts.

Mysterious disappearance

On the afternoon of September 6, 2018, Ms. Bui Thi Huong (70 years old, residing in Yen Nghiep commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province) went to Yen Nghiep Commune Police to report Mr. Bui Van Nam (36 years old, son Mrs.) is a taxi driver who has not returned since dawn on September 4. The family called many times but could not reach because the phone was turned off.

Receiving news about the mysterious disappearance, Lac Son district police mobilized forces to quickly investigate. At this point, many theories have been put forward. Mr. Nam’s failure to return home can happen with many possibilities, such as being robbed, kidnapped, or he ran away from home for different reasons.

Considering the complicated nature of the incident, the district police reported to the Provincial Police Directorate and professional departments to conduct investigation measures. The activity of tracing the whereabouts of Mr. Nam’s 4-seater car BKS: 29A-622.99 was deployed right across the province of Hoa Binh, and at the same time announced the search for lost people and vehicles on mass media. At the same time, family members posted news and pictures of Mr. Nam and his car on Facebook, asking the community for help in searching.

Not long after, someone reported seeing Mr. Nam’s car moving in Cao Phong and Tan Lac districts, Hoa Binh). Specifically, on the morning of September 5, a neighbor of Mr. Nam’s when going to Hoa Binh city saw this car going in the area of Ngoc My commune, Tan Lac district. The suspicious thing was that at that time, the car moved very abnormally like a hammock, the driver didn’t seem to be familiar with the car… different from Mr. Nam’s very careful driving habits.

Summarizing many sources of information, considering that there are signs of crime, the Board of Directors of Hoa Binh Provincial Police has directed the CSHS Department to establish a special investigation project, and coordinate with the Lac Son District Police and professional units. concentrate maximum forces, means and measures to clarify the case as soon as possible.

Major Dinh Van Nghia (Department of CSHS) said that through verification of Mr. Nam’s identity, he was found to be a gentle and enthusiastic person in business. Before that, he borrowed money from a bank to buy a car as a means of transporting passengers to earn a living, so he worked very hard to repay the loan. Knowing the local situation, it is known that Mr. Nam has no conflicts, hatred, or “outside” relationships with anyone, nor does he participate in social evils such as drugs, gambling…

Attempts to find

At this time, the main theory was that Mr. Nam was killed to rob his car, or was kidnapped and held somewhere for ransom. Besides, many other situations were also assumed to be excluded. For example, in the process of transporting passengers, Mr. Nam was lured and dragged into gambling activities, which led to his loss and being kept in the car. The possibility of the vehicle being in an accident, falling into the cliff is also taken into account.

“Although there are many theories put forward, but after much calculation, consideration, and then by the method of elimination, the Special Case Committee has come to an agreement to concentrate the military force to pursue in the direction of murder – robbery. being robbed may be the victim’s car and phone,” recalled Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quoc Trinh (Deputy Head of CSHS).

Since then, many working groups have been established to simultaneously deal with the contents of the specialized combat plan. The focus is on finding the victim’s car and suspicious objects related to the case.

A scout continued to “plug” in the area where Mr. Nam’s family resides to capture meaningful information for investigation activities. The second team conducts monitoring and checking at public places, motels and inns near the victim’s residence, in order to detect unknown objects appearing before, during and after the disappearance occurred. out.

At the same time, criminal subjects with current activity manifestations are also put into “sight” to check the time-use schedule as well as to detect financial, behavioral, relational irregularities… The third team deployed to check and extract images of security cameras on all roads such as National Highway 6, National Highway 12B, Ho Chi Minh Road and provincial roads … that the victim may have passed. to reschedule activities.

In parallel with the above measures, the notice of tracing the victim and the whereabouts of the vehicle has been sent to all districts in the province by the Special Project Board. The police force of the commune, the police and the traffic police in the province were mobilized in this search.

The notice is also sent to functional units in the provinces and cities bordering Hoa Binh such as Thanh Hoa, Son La, Phu Tho, and Hanoi, asking your province to assist the locality in tracing people and exhibits.

While the search was still “cloudy”, the victim’s family reported that on September 7, they received a phone call informing that Mr. Nam was currently in Cambodia, asking the family to pay a ransom of 50 million VND. copper will release people and vehicles. The hypothesis that Mr. Nam went to Cambodia to gamble and lost, so he was detained and his car, or kidnapped, for ransom… has caused a “headache” for those doing the crime.

Colonel Bui Trung Kien – (Deputy Head of Lac Son District Police at that time) pointed out the absurdity of the above information, because with a road of more than 2 thousand kilometers from Hoa Binh, in the condition of the accident car. From September 4 to 7, it was difficult for victims to be present in Cambodia. This is most likely fake information to deceive the victim’s family, or a trick to distract the investigation.

The campaign to launch the all-people movement to protect national security and denounce crimes has been widely deployed in Lac Son district, causing information about subject S who is a grocery store owner but often participates in cockfighting and gambling.

The verification result of the phone number that called Mr. Nam at dawn on September 4 was S’s phone number. Immediately this person was put into a special “research” category. All of his movements and activities are in the eyes of the scouts.

However, at 5:00 p.m. on September 10, there were grounds to exclude S from the suspect category. S declared on the afternoon of September 4 when S was at the grocery store, when 2 young men came to his grocery store, asking for help with a taxi. S used his phone to call his brother who works as a taxi driver, but this person refused, then S called Mr. Nam to report that he had a taxi driver.

S declared that he did not know these people, did not remember their identities, did not know where they hired Mr. Nam to drive him. With nothing left to cling to, the clues that had just appeared had become too fragile.

Solve the case

Undeterred, the Project Committee mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers to participate, conducting a review of all pawn shops in the province, expanding the inspection of security cameras on roads from Cao Phong, Tan Lac. to Hanoi. At Luong Son toll station, 30 km from Hoa Binh, the camera captured the victim’s car passing the station at 9:45 a.m. on September 6, heading towards Hanoi. The project committee immediately set up six working groups to return to Hanoi and surrounding areas to review.

On September 11, the crime-solving force discovered Mr. Nam’s car was pledged at the pawn shop at 42 Nguyen Tuan Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi). The car was later recovered by the working group to serve the investigation.

Autopsy results showed that the driver’s front seat had signs of damage and was deflected. Nam’s car mortgagor was identified, including Bui Van Hien (19 years old) and Bui Van An (21 years old), residing in Thuong Coc commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh. The scouts urgently summoned Hien when this object was present in the locality to organize the fight and clarify the matter.

At the Investigation Agency, although stubbornly denied the involvement, but before the collected documents and evidence, along with sharp questioning tactics, Bui Van Hien had to confess due to lack of money to play games and bought methamphetamine, so Hien and Bui Van An discussed robbing property for money to spend. Their target is private cars as passenger service.

From Hien’s testimony, on the night of September 14, about 100 police officers and soldiers of Hoa Binh province surrounded An when he was hiding in the forest in Thuong Coc commune. The crime was clarified, the subjects confessed that around 2 a.m. on September 4, Mr. Nam came to take An and Hien to Chi Thien commune (Lac Son district) at the request of the subjects.

Arriving on an empty road in Thuong Coc commune, An asked the driver to stop so he could go to the toilet. Seeing An open the car door to go out, Hien took a rope to strangle Mr. Nam from behind. Seeing Hien take action, An got into the car to help from the outside.

After struggling for a while, discovering that the victim was dead, the two subjects immediately took the body to Thung Nhuoi pass (Mai Chau district) to hide it. Then they brought the car down to Hanoi to pledge at a pawn shop on Nguyen Tuan street for 20 million VND to share, play games and use drugs.
