The activity of tracing the whereabouts of Mr. Nam’s 4-seater car BKS: 29A-622.99 was deployed right across the province of Hoa Binh, and at the same time announced the search for lost people and vehicles on mass media. At the same time, family members posted news and pictures of Mr. Nam and his car on Facebook, asking the community for help in searching.

The suspicious thing was that at that time, the car moved very abnormally like a hammock, the driver didn’t seem to be familiar with the car… different from Mr. Nam’s very careful driving habits.

Summarizing many sources of information, considering that there are signs of crime, the Board of Directors of Hoa Binh Provincial Police has directed the CSHS Department to establish a special investigation project, and coordinate with the Lac Son District Police and professional units. concentrate maximum forces, means and measures to clarify the case as soon as possible.

At this time, the main theory was that Mr. Nam was killed to rob his car, or was kidnapped and held somewhere for ransom. Besides, many other situations were also assumed to be excluded. For example, in the process of transporting passengers, Mr. Nam was lured and dragged into gambling activities, which led to his loss and being kept in the car. The possibility of the vehicle being in an accident, falling into the cliff is also taken into account.

While the search was still “cloudy”, the victim’s family reported that on September 7, they received a phone call informing that Mr. Nam was currently in Cambodia, asking the family to pay a ransom of 50 million VND. copper will release people and vehicles. The verification result of the phone number that called Mr. Nam at dawn on September 4 was S’s phone number. Immediately this person was put into a special “research” category. All of his movements and activities are in the eyes of the scouts.

However, at 5:00 p.m. on September 10, there were grounds to exclude S from the suspect category. S declared on the afternoon of September 4 when S was at the grocery store, when 2 young men came to his grocery store, asking for help with a taxi. S used his phone to call his brother who works as a taxi driver, but this person refused, then S called Mr. Nam to report that he had a taxi driver.

S declared that he did not know these people, did not remember their identities, did not know where they hired Mr. Nam to drive him. With nothing left to cling to, the clues that had just appeared had become too fragile.

Solve the case

Undeterred, the Project Committee mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers to participate, conducting a review of all pawn shops in the province, expanding the inspection of security cameras on roads from Cao Phong, Tan Lac. to Hanoi. At Luong Son toll station, 30 km from Hoa Binh, the camera captured the victim’s car passing the station at 9:45 a.m. on September 6, heading towards Hanoi. The project committee immediately set up six working groups to return to Hanoi and surrounding areas to review.

On September 11, the crime-solving force discovered Mr. Nam’s car was pledged at the pawn shop at 42 Nguyen Tuan Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi). The car was later recovered by the working group to serve the investigation.

Nam’s car mortgagor was identified, including Bui Van Hien (19 years old) and Bui Van An (21 years old), residing in Thuong Coc commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh. From Hien’s testimony, on the night of September 14, about 100 police officers and soldiers of Hoa Binh province surrounded An when he was hiding in the forest in Thuong Coc commune. The crime was clarified, the subjects confessed that around 2 a.m. on September 4, Mr. Nam came to take An and Hien to Chi Thien commune (Lac Son district) at the request of the subjects.

Arriving on an empty road in Thuong Coc commune, An asked the driver to stop so he could go to the toilet. Seeing An open the car door to go out, Hien took a rope to strangle Mr. Nam from behind. Seeing Hien take action, An got into the car to help from the outside.

After struggling for a while, discovering that the victim was dead, the two subjects immediately took the body to Thung Nhuoi pass (Mai Chau district) to hide it. Then they brought the car down to Hanoi to pledge at a pawn shop on Nguyen Tuan street for 20 million VND to share, play games and use drugs.
