The defending runner-up Japanese team has a special goal of winning one of the two leading positions to advance to the 1/8 round.

“Yokomaha F.Marinos’ goal is to win and advance through the group stage“, confirmed by coach Kevin Muscat. At J-League 1 this season, Yokohama F.Marinos is second in the group after 10 rounds, winning 18 points, 2 points behind the leader Kawasaki Frontale.
Yokohama F.Marinos ranked first in the AFC Champions League last season.
Meanwhile, coach Kiatisak affirmed that HAGL will play to the best of its ability in the AFC Champions League to give the audience good matches. No Vietnamese club has ever qualified for the AFC Champions League group stage. Last season, Viettel Club won 2, lost 4 after 6 matches, ranked third in the group stage.

At 6pm on April 16, HAGL will face Yokohama F.Marinos in the opening match of Group H AFC Champions League.
