Leaving town to go to the forest to do farmstay is not letting go of the fast pace of life, it’s a busy job

The epidemic made the trend of leaving the city to go to the forest even more explosive. A small house, a large garden full of vegetables and fruits. In the morning, I open my eyes to see the majestic natural mountains and hills, in the afternoon, I see a small stream of water murmuring on the porch. That scene is the dream of many young people who are under the pressure of worrying about food and money in the months of being stuck in the office for 8 hours, feeling a life where “even breathing makes us work hard.” “.

Many young people have chosen to leave the forest to soon realize the dream of youth. They accept debt, accept sacrifices because they admit that: “If not now, never will have the opportunity”. And they think, experiencing life in the middle of nature will be more valuable and cherished than the tiring rhythm of the city with high wages, traffic jams and work pressure.

When choosing to leave the city and return to the forest, many young people think that they will be able to say goodbye to stress and fatigue and live a lighter and simpler life.

However, the reality is not like that. Some young people shared that, they realized, leaving the city to go to the forest is not the choice for a peaceful and peaceful life as they once thought. On the contrary, sometimes, life in remote areas becomes a burden to make a living.

Life leaving the city to the forest is not easy. (Illustrated image).

Nearly 2 years of leaving the city to return to the forest, completely giving up office work, unfinished programming projects, Sinh, 33, admits, is still not completely used to the new job. At the age of 20, with his wife gliding through the streets, watching the idyllic homestay in the middle of nature, Sinh and his wife cherish the dream, that one day they will quit all the city work, just need such a simple life.

At the age of 31, when he thought that he had to leave town and return to the forest soon, he had to be determined because otherwise it would be too late, Sinh and his wife sold an apartment in the center of Hanoi and bought more than 2,000 square meters of land in the suburbs to build a house. Wanting to live in the suburbs, Sinh built a homestay and started renting it out. Initially, Sinh thought, the farmstay model would help the whole family both relax and do business and maintain income.

However, Sinh confided: “Rest is not seen yet, but hard work is there”. In order to be rented, farmstay must have a unique design, full of utilities. To do this, you have to spend money to hire a design, which is expensive. With a thin capital, Sinh and his wife did it themselves from A to Z such as: coming up with ideas, finding materials, and construction workers.

After 7 months of heavy rain, getting up early, staying up late to participate in the completion of the house, coming to the stage of operating farmstay, Sinh said: “Everything is not easy”.

If before, his job as a programmer put pressure on him to complete on time. When the time is up, he can return home to spend the evening with his family. At the end of the month, he gets his salary. But opening farmstay is synonymous with becoming the owner of a “business”. Must be able to balance cash flow, determine costs and rent inflows. Because in order to operate farmstay, he and his wife cannot fully undertake the work from A to Z. The cost of raw materials, food, repair, warranty for some items such as swimming pool… all need to be planned and maintained. calculate. Not to mention having to find a source of guests to come to the resort.

Mr. Sinh said that from an office worker to a “multi-talented” person, both manual labor and thinking about looking for tenants made his working time last from morning to late night. “I lost weight and gray hair due to thinking too much.”

Not to mention, Mr. Sinh confided that at first, sometimes he craved the feeling of sitting at a coffee shop, or wanted to go to the supermarket, or when he was sick, he wanted to quickly go to the hospital, which made him want to give up in the forest.

“Up to now, my life has gradually stabilized, but the future is not clear. Sometimes I miss the feeling of crowded streets and one step can buy many things. Two years away from the streets to return to the countryside who They also say I look old.”

Sinh’s story is typical of the difficulties that young people have when they decide to leave the city and go back to their hometown to work on farmstay. Adapting to a new life is not easy when life used to be familiar with the vibrant conveniences of the inner city. Therefore, not all young people can persevere with the life of “leaving the city to the forest” after experiencing difficulties.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh – CEO of The Field Owner Investment Co., Ltd advises that, before investing in farmstay, you must ask the question why you want to invest in farmstay. According to Mr. Quoc Anh, if investing in the farmstay model, it is necessary to determine that it takes 1-2 years to build and develop a brand for farmstay. Only then will there be cash flow and profit.
