Con is located 50 meters from the shore, formerly about a hectare wide, where a number of people live. After many years, it was eroded, so the area of the dune was reduced. Currently, the dune is 30 m long, 9 m wide, no houses left, only a few concrete pillars from a previous business establishment and shrubs remain.

The local government said that dunes are often submerged in rivers, appearing only at low tide. Many boats from other places do not know the road or run aground in the dune area. Late last year, a boat carrying 50 tons of rice crashed into the dune and sank on the spot.

The Traffic Police Department of Tien Giang province has proposed to install danger warning boards and instruct boats to pass through the dunes area.
