According to the US space agency NASA, the meteorite that fell to Earth created a large streak of light that lit up the sky near Manus Island, Papua New Guinea on January 8, 2014 and moved at a speed of more than 160,934 km. /hour.
Scientists believe that debris from the meteorite fell into the southern Pacific Ocean. If they can be detected and recovered, they will reveal more information about the detailed origin of the rocky object.

One of the study’s authors, Amir Siraj, said he now wants to trace debris from the meteorite after the impact.
“The debris could be on the ocean floor off the coast of Papua New Guinea,” he said. “It’s a big challenge, but studying them will provide important additional information.”
The second asteroid outside the Solar System discovered in 2017 once caused a stir called Oumuamua. Up to now, the asteroid Oumuamua still contains many mysteries, is a fragment carved from a planet similar to Pluto in another Solar System from half a billion years ago.
At first, Oumuamua looked like a comet, but after calculating the object’s speed, mass and shape, experts found it to be an asteroid because there is no gas cloud surrounding the nucleus like a comet. .
Astronomers discovered Oumuamua using the panorama telescope and the Pan-STARRS1 rapid response system on the island of Hawaii. In Hawaiian, the name Oumuamua means “first messenger from afar”.
