Toyota Corolla Cross dominates the urban SUV segment, the newly launched Hyundai Creta is impressive

The B-segment urban SUV segment in Vietnam is witnessing a strong competition of many models from different brands. This is also a segment favored by domestic users with youthful design cars, reasonable prices and especially high ground clearance.

In the past March, Hyundai Creta has just joined the urban B-SUV segment and also left a mark.

Toyota Corolla Cross has no rival

In the list of the best-selling models in the B-segment urban SUV segment, the Toyota Corolla Cross proved too strong compared to its competitors. Following the success of 2021, the first months of 2022, Toyota Corolla Cross is still showing sublimation.

Last March, Toyota Corolla Cross achieved sales of 2,373 vehicles delivered to domestic customers. After the first 3 months of the year, the Japanese brand’s SUV model handed over a total of 5,546 units.

The above sales also help Toyota Corolla Cross to be the best-selling car in the whole Vietnamese market in the first quarter of 2022. This position used to belong to familiar ones like Toyota Vios, VinFast Fadil… and now it’s Toyota Corolla. Cross, even though this is an imported vehicle, is not eligible for registration fee incentives.

That has shown the irresistible appeal of Toyota Corolla Cross to domestic consumers.

KIA Seltos is the second car in terms of sales when selling 1,281 units in March and the cumulative first quarter reached 3,985 vehicles. Despite being loved, but KIA Seltos has a shortage of goods, so the number of cars delivered to users is still limited.

Hyundai Kona still maintained stable sales in March with 395 units sold and 1,164 units since the beginning of 2022.

Hyundai Creta has created a highlight

Hyundai Creta is a completely new model that was just introduced in Vietnam on March 15. Although it took less than a week to deliver the car (delivered on March 25), according to TC Motor’s sales report, sales of Hyundai Creta were 54 units to customers across the country.

For many people, the above figure is not impressive, but when put into reference, the delivery time of less than 1 week is still the sales that help the Korean automaker expect the success of Hyundai Creta in the domestic market.

The highlight of the Hyundai Creta 2022 comes from a series of advanced safety technologies that are superior to competitors in the same segment such as collision avoidance assistance, blind spot warning, lane keeping assist, and rear collision avoidance.

Hyundai Creta 2022 is equipped with a 1.5L Smartstream I-4 naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a capacity of 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. Power to the wheels is an intelligent variable transmission iVT and front-wheel drive.

In Vietnam, Hyundai Creta is distributed with 3 versions with prices ranging from 620 to 730 million VND.
