Making fertilizer powder from crabs

Should completely dry crab shells, because crab shells contain salt which is not good for flowers. After drying and soaking in water for two days, the salt content will be greatly reduced.

The purpose of soaking is to let the salt soak into the crab shell as little as possible, after soaking, remove the crab shell and dry it. Use broken eggshell or eggshell powder

Eggshells are washed with warm water, dried, then crushed, pounded or ground into a fine powder. You should keep the remaining film on the eggshell because most of the nutrients are in it. Whole shells can be used, but crushing helps to break down faster. Many people even bake eggshells at 350 degrees until light brown before blending to increase efficiency.

In addition, eggshell powder can be mixed with soil before planting new flowers, herbs or vegetables, or spread directly around the base of the tree without the need to cover it with soil. When the eggshell decomposes, the plant filters out calcium and other nutrients.

Fertilizer from bone meal

The bones of pigs, chickens and fish are rich sources of phosphorous that are good for plants during the flowering period. Depending on the type of bone, the level of NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) can range from 1-12-0 to 4-21-2.

Fertilizer from the bone will slowly release nutrients for the plants to absorb. However, bone manure is recommended to be used in soils with a pH lower than 7 because acidic soil helps to release nutrients in the bones but alkaline soil will lock the nutrients.

Bones are washed and disinfected with heat, can be boiled for 5-8 hours to remove all the meat remaining on the bones, then dried for use gradually.

When the bones are crisp and dry, grind or pound them into a fine powder. After fermentation, the powder can be dried on the ground, around the stumps with an amount of about one pound per 50m2.

Bone meal can be cooked into brewed tea for use. The ratio per tablespoon of bone meal corresponds to 3.8 liters of water, using both the residue and irrigation water. Bone manure is suitable for plants that need to flower and bear fruit in the garden.
