72% of users experience cyberattacks when making electronic payments

Security firm Kaspersky recently published a study on the relationship between the explosion of forms online payingdigital payment with risks, the risk of cyber attacks in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.

According to this study, nearly 72% of users have been hacked at least once when making an online payment. According to the same study, greater exposure to cyber threats may be directly related to higher levels of awareness.

Non-technical scams, fake websites, fake promotions are among the most common threats, with high recognition rates of 72%, 75% and 64% respectively.

Up to 54% of users said they lost money due to bank account scam and credit cards. Some 36% said they still believe banks and mobile wallet providers will solve the problem, but 18% said they have less confidence in digital payment providers.
