On April 15, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son issued a document to adjust the case definition Covid-19 and medical isolation measures for Covid-19 cases and close contacts (F1). Specifically:

The suspected case of Covid-19 is one of the following:

A person with epidemiological factors and presenting with symptoms (fever and cough or having at least 3 of the following symptoms: Fever; cough; body aches, fatigue, chills; pain, headache; sore throat; diarrhea) runny nose, stuffy nose; decreased or lost sense of smell; decreased or lost taste; nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; difficulty breathing).

A person with a positive antigen test result.

Is a case of severe acute respiratory infection, severe pneumonia suspected of being caused by a virus, indicating hospitalization.

The confirmed case (F0) is one of the following cases:

A person who has tested positive for the virus that causes Covid-19 by RT-PCR.

A person who has clinical symptoms and has a positive antigen test result for the virus that causes Covid-19.

Being a person with epidemiological factors and having a positive antigen test result for the virus that causes Covid-19.

Close contact (F1) is one of the following:

Persons having direct physical contact (shaking hands, hugging, kissing, direct skin-to-body contact…) with confirmed cases during the transmission period of F0.

A person wearing a mask has contact, communicate within 1 meter or in the same narrow, closed space and for at least 15 minutes with F0 in the transmission period.

People without masks having close contact, communicating within 1 meter or being in the same narrow, closed space with F0 are in the transmission period.

Persons who directly care for, examine and treat F0 during the transmission period without using personal protective equipment as prescribed.

According to the Ministry of Health, all surveillance cases (suspected cases) and confirmed cases (F0) have taken measures for infection prevention, isolation, testing, treatment and care according to regulations. regulations of the Ministry of Health.

For F1, within 10 days from the date of last contact with F0 in the transmission period, F1 must seriously take the following measures:

Ensure measures to prevent infection: Wear a mask, regularly wash your hands with soap and clean water / a quick hand sanitizer solution, limit close contact with others, especially avoid contact with people at risk high, seriously ill people; do not share items in daily life, work or study; Avoid going to crowded places.

Self-monitoring of health (for children, students, parents/guardians/teachers monitor the health of children and students) when having symptoms of fever and cough; or have at least 3 of the following symptoms: Fever; cough; body aches, fatigue, chills; pain, headache; sore throat; runny nose, stuffy nose; decreased or lost sense of smell; decreased or lost taste; nausea; vomit; diarrhea; difficulty breathing) should immediately notify a medical facility for advice, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and health care as prescribed.

When having a positive result for the virus that causes Covid-19 disease, they must immediately notify the local health facility for advice, care, treatment and implementation of infection prevention and control measures as prescribed.

According to the Ministry of Health, the above adjustment is because now the Covid-19 vaccination rate has reached a high coverage rate nationwide; The rate of serious illness and death related to Covid-19 has decreased deeply, most of the cases of Covid-19 have no symptoms, mild symptoms.
