Kentucky man indicted in shooting death of ex-legislator’s daughter
A Kentucky Man accused of shooting dead daughter of a former Kentucky congressman during a home invasion was indicted for murder.
Shannon Gilday allegedly broke into a multi-million dollar Madison County home owned by former congressman C. Wesley Morgan and shot Jordan Morgan while she was sleeping, according to court filings and statements from Morgan.
Gilday also spoke to Morgan during the February 22 break-in.
Gilday, 23, was also charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of assault, theft and felony, The Herald-Leader reports Thursday.
State police investigators said Gilday told them he was determined to get into an indoor bunker and was willing to kill everyone inside.
Gilday was arrested in Madison County about a week after the shooting. He fled to Florida after the shooting but returned to Kentucky.
