Making 1 million USD emergency center and infrastructure connecting the West – Cambodia
Westerners often say that Dong Thap is the ‘king of connections’, which is not wrong. They have just invited the two most famous ‘children’ of Hong Ngu district to come here to cooperate and invest, in order to help Hong Ngu district – Dong Thap – the West to change their skin.
According to information from Dong Thap province, an important signing ceremony took place in Hong Ngu district recently. According to the signed minutes, Nova Group and Sokimex will actively coordinate to review and research on investment planning to build transport infrastructure connecting the Mekong Delta – Cambodia and the Mekong sub-region.
The two sides will also take advantage of their strengths to cooperate in developing tourism activities in the areas where the two sides’ projects are located. At the same time, the two will work together to implement social security projects, schools and hospitals to support people on the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.
In the immediate future, these two groups will cooperate to invest in the construction of Sokimex Nova Emergency Center in the border area of Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province with a total investment capital of up to 1 million USD. At the signing ceremony, Sokimex Group gave a symbolic investment of USD 500,000 for this project.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Thien Nghia gave flowers to congratulate Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon – Chairman of NovaGroup and Mr. Sok Kong – Chairman of Sokimex.
Dong Thap Province will accompany Nova Group and Sokimex Group from the conception of the idea to the whole journey of implementing investment procedures and putting the project into operation.
The reason why the cooperation between the two groups looks unrelated is because the leaders of Nova Group – Sokimex are both from Hong Ngu district – Dong Thap.
The fact that the new billionaire Bui Thanh Nhon appeared in the signing ceremony showed that he was very devoted to his homeland, because for a long time, this leader rarely appeared at Nova Group events.
Moreover, at the beginning of this year, Nova Group Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the People’s Committee of Dong Thap province on the development project of Mekong Smart City (Mekong Smart City) in Hong Ngu district, the city Hong Ngu, with 11 component projects.
The Mekong smart city is expected to become an attractive tourist destination for the Mekong sub-region, a lever to promote the socio-economic development of the two localities as well as the Mekong Delta, gradually creating new model border urban area in Vietnam.
On the other hand, few Vietnamese know who Neak Sok Kong is, but in Cambodia, he is a legend in the business world.
This businessman born in 1948 with two Vietnamese – Orange bloodlines established Sokimex in the 1990s and developed it to become a leading enterprise in Cambodia today. Sokimex operates in the fields of petrochemicals, infrastructure development, hotel and airline management.
Entrepreneur Neak Sok Kong was once crowned Duke of Cambodia by the King and is currently one of the 10 richest people in this country.
