New feature on TikTok helps users “relieve” anger with negative comments-Information Technology
TikTok is testing a new feature that allows users to “dislike” individual comments on videos. In a post about community and safety guidelines, TikTok said users can flag comments they deem “irrelevant or inappropriate”.
In a recent statement, a spokesperson for TikTok “Community feedback adds to the range of elements we already use to help keep the comments section relevant to the content and a place for real interaction,” said.

In the past, TikTok users were able to tap “not interested” in a video to let the app know they weren’t interested in the content. The dislike comment button appears to be an additional TikTok option, in addition to the available community guidelines reporting comment option.
The company also says it’s testing sending reminders of features like comment filtering, blocking, and mass deletion to creators who receive a lot of negative comments. According to TikTok, decisions on whether to roll out the feature in its entirety will be made in the coming weeks.

In a recent report, TikTok said the company removed more than 85 million videos between October and December 2021 for violations – about 1% of all videos uploaded to the app.
