One Piece and Toei Animation’s popular anime series will return this weekend after a hacker attack
Toei Animation was hit hard this spring by a hacker attack on its YouTube channel that resulted in One Piece and a series of other anime was stopped airing. After more than 1 month of troubleshooting, it looks like everything is ready to go back to this studio. Most recently a new announcement has been announced confirming some of its hit series are ready to air.
This announcement was posted on the One Piece homepage on Twitter, making many viewers feel secure about this information. According to the announcement, One Piece will return to serve the audience with the latest episode on April 17. One Piece episode 1014 will be titled “Marco’s Tears! The Bonds of the Whitebeard Pirates”. This will be Marco’s little flashback of why he came to Wano and helped Luffy and his former Whitebeard crewmate Izo.
Besides One Piece episode 1014, Toei Animation has confirmed a number of other series on its list will return soon. Among them, Digimon, Precure, and Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai are all slated to return in the next two weeks. This marks Toei Animation back to normal after the hack in early March.
For the hardcore audience, the fact that Toei Animation released a statement confirming the hack took place in early March made them feel uncomfortable. The studio said some internal systems were accessed without permission by third parties. An investigation was quickly opened and the hack caused Toei Animation to temporarily suspend all broadcasts on the studio’s channels.
