– At the injection point, parents need to share with the doctor about the child’s allergy and chronic disease so that the doctor can guide the doctor in that case whether to inject at the hospital or at the injection site at school.

– Before vaccination, parents need to know what vaccines their children have received and how are the reactions?

– After injection, children need to stay at the injection site for 30 minutes to closely monitor anaphylactic reactions. Continuously monitor children for the first 3 days after vaccination.

“After receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, it is necessary to monitor for unusual symptoms such as: rash, lethargy, fever… If these common symptoms increase, the child needs to be examined,” Ms. Hong said.

Le Kien Ngai, Head of the Department of Infection Prevention and Control, National Children’s Hospital, informed that in order to ensure the safety of immunization for children, the Ministry of Health has issued very methodical and timely guidance documents. In it, there are guidelines for screening children vaccinated at schools and hospitals.

Mr. Ngai emphasized, very important milestones that need to be followed up after vaccination are: 30 minutes, 24 hours after vaccination, the first 3 days after vaccination, 7 days after injection and 28 days after injection.
