Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted recruits 525 students in grade 6

Eligibility conditions are that the student has completed the primary school program in Ho Chi Minh City and has a score of 9 or higher in the 5th grade annual test in Vietnamese and Math. The age of students entering 6th grade is 11 years old (according to a valid birth certificate).

For students who pass the previous grade at the previous grade level or students who enter the school at an older age than the prescribed age, the age of entering 6th grade is reduced or increased based on the age of the previous year of graduation.

Students who are ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, have extremely difficult circumstances, and overseas students who return home can enter school at the age of 3 years older than the prescribed age.

Students will take a capacity survey on June 25, 90 minutes.

Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted is the only school in Ho Chi Minh City that is allowed by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Admissions entrance into grade 6 with the form of a competency survey (other schools apply). Every year, about 3,800 – 4,000 5th grade students register for the survey. For the school year 2021 – 2022, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Department of Education and Training has decided to apply for admission with many conditions attached.

If they are not admitted to Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, students will still be considered for admission to grade 6 according to the regulations of the Admission Steering Committees of districts and Thu Duc City.
