Thai Vi temple in Van Lam village (Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province). The temple worships 4 kings of the Tran dynasty: Tran Thai Tong, Tran Thanh Tong, Tran Nhan Tong, Tran Anh Tong and Hien Tu Hoang Thai Queen.

According to historical records, in 1258, after the first victory of the resistance war against the Yuan Mongols, King Tran Thai Tong ceded the throne to his son, Crown Prince Tran Thanh Tong; After that, he returned to the Truong Yen mountain area to practice, starting the construction of the Vu Lam palace.

He established an Am called Thai Vi Tu, recruited exiles to reclaim land, set up seals, widen roads, embellish vital places, and prepare for when war against invasion broke out. . Thai Vi Temple relic was ranked as a National Historical – Cultural Relic in 1994.

This is the biggest festival of the year of the people of Ninh Hai commune (Hoa Lu district) to commemorate the merits of the Tran kings, especially King Tran Thai Tong who had the merit of recruiting people to establish a hamlet in Ninh Hai commune.

Due to the development of the Covid-19 epidemic, many activities of the festival were not held, but people and visitors still enjoyed many unique cultural activities.

The festival is organized on a communal scale with many rituals of the ceremony to ensure the solemnity such as the opening ceremony of the temple door, the procession of palanquins, the offering of incense, and the thanksgiving ceremony.

In addition, the palanquin, chess, gong and drum teams of villages in Ninh Hai commune (Hoa Lu district) were carried from Dinh Cac yard to Thai Vi temple dragon yard. After the procession, delegations and people came to offer incense and sacrifices to pray for a year of favorable rain and wind, good crops, and all peace.
