Driver forgot to apply brake, car crashed into plane

SpainThe driverless Renault Clio crashed into a Boeing 737 at Alicante Airport, April 12.

At the scene, the French-brand hatchback was stuck after hitting the roof of the plane. Luckily no one was injured and the damage was not serious.

The Renault belongs to the ground division of Alicante Airport, according to AirLive. However, the driver forgot to apply the brakes when stopping, and as a result, the unmanned hatchback rolled towards the parked plane. There were no passengers on the plane.

The impact from the collision was very small, but the aircraft still had to be checked immediately. When determined to be completely normal, the Boeing 737 departed from Alicante, Spain, bound for Manchester, England, after a 90-minute delay.

When parking, if you return to P, on a normal road surface or on an incline but the slope is small, the vehicle cannot roll. At that time, a ratchet gear hooks into the gearbox to keep the car from moving. Only when the car is hit hard from behind or the road is too steep, the force is too much for the gears to bear, causing the gears to break, then the car will move.

In most cases of stopping, parking, not pulling the handbrake and the vehicle rolling, it is because the driver did not return P but just left it in N. At that time, just the slightly steep road made the car move.
