Some strange majors also appeared for the first time or upgraded from the intermediate training system to the bachelor’s level.

This year, a number of universities such as Foreign Trade, Ho Chi Minh City Economics, and Hutech Technology opened new majors such as digital marketing, international economy, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence. According to universities, the university cooperates with businesses to open these industries to closely meet human needs in the context of digital transformation.

Some Hong Bang University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, etc. promote or expand health science disciplines such as medicine and pharmacy. There are even majors, which were previously offered by vocational secondary schools, but now have been upgraded to bachelor’s degrees such as midwifery.

Some industries have quite strange names like Sports Economics, appearing in the world for a long time, but in Vietnam for the first time enrolling and now there are quite a few football players or students registered to study.

According to experts, after more than 2 years of the epidemic, the expansion of training in new branches from economics, medicine, to engineering, etc. to meet human resource needs and socio-economic development is in the right direction. However, schools need to pay special attention to controlling output quality, avoiding massively opening majors, following training targets, to ensure the quality of human resources.
