National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the introduction of the law must create fundamental changes in domestic violence prevention

Expressing the view that it is necessary to amend the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control, National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue said that this is not only a matter of great concern of the Party and State but also of the whole society.

“Because the consequences of domestic violence both physically and mentally are very great, especially for women, children and husbands who also suffer from domestic violence. Surely this bill will receive a lot of attention. great focus of the National Assembly and the whole society,” emphasized the National Assembly Chairman.

National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue proposed to clarify the responsibilities of agencies and organizations in presiding over and coordinating this work, and said that if not detected and handled promptly, whose responsibility is it? and if it is not clear, it is difficult to distinguish when the consequences of the incident are very serious. “Every brother worries but does not know the responsibility, sometimes it is not as good as a brother. Most cases of domestic violence are discovered by the press,” said the National Assembly Chairman.

Commenting on specific content, the President of the National Assembly assessed that the bill did not clarify the protections for victims of mental violence, sexual violence, “sexual violence without intercourse”, while thick The mental torture is often more severe than the physical.

Citing experts’ opinion that sex selection of the fetus is also domestic violence, the National Assembly Chairman shared: “In many cases of unwanted pregnancies, husbands are horribly abused. Or love The situation of stepmothers abusing stepchildren of husbands, and then stepfathers and lovers abusing and abusing stepchildren are very disturbing to society, so the judicial branches need to pay special attention to this subject.”

The National Assembly Chairman asked Minister Nguyen Van Hung and ministries of the justice sector to review the painful phenomenon of stepmothers abusing stepchildren of husbands, stepfathers, and even abusive lovers. stepchild of wife.

“In the old days, the old people used to say the phrase ‘for generations to have a cake with bones.’ Of course, now that society has developed differently, I have gradually overcome it, but the elders haven’t said anything wrong. Cases like children 3 At the age of being nailed to the head by a mother’s lover, who is responsible for detecting, preventing and handling it in time?” – National Assembly President asked the issue and suggested relevant agencies to research , identify and take action to remedy this problem.

From another angle of domestic violence, Minister of Education and Training (Education and Training) Nguyen Kim Son pointed out the fact that there is a phenomenon where parents expect too much from their children, which leads them to require them to study. until 2-3 am as well as expecting children to get 10 points every day. Or having to follow the career of parents, becoming proud of parents has created pressure, exceeding children’s capacity and ability. . Therefore, the draft needs to be more explicit about not putting too much pressure on work and study.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Son commented that the bill that stipulates the prohibition on the act of abandoning parents, the elderly do not care for and abandon children, it is also necessary to add the same behaviors as parents but do not fulfill their responsibility to teach children or children. Should the school’s responsibility to cooperate with the school be domestic violence? “Parents not only have the responsibility to raise their children, but also have the responsibility to teach and teach excessively, which should also be considered violence against students” – Minister Nguyen Kim Son suggested.
