The first day of vaccination against COVID-19 for children 5-11 years old in Hanoi
On the afternoon of April 16, the Hanoi Department of Health gave an injection COVID-19 vaccine for about 215 6th grade students at 2 schools in Ha Dong district, Le Quy Don Secondary School and Le Loi Secondary School.
According to Truong Ky Phong, Director of Ha Dong District Health Center, on the afternoon of April 15, the district received the number of vaccines allocated by the Hanoi Department of Health. To prepare for the injection session, this morning of April 16, Ha Dong District Medical Center coordinated with other units and the Department of Education and Training to report and advise the District People’s Committee to immediately plan the injection implementation.
Before injecting, parents make medical declaration and fill in personal information, sign the Immunization Consent Form according to the issued form.
Children are screened health and counseling before getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine used for the first time for 6th graders in Hanoi is Moderna. This is also the vaccine approved by the Ministry of Health for children 6-11 years old in Vietnam.

Today is the first day the city gives a COVID-19 vaccine to children 5-11 years old. The Department of Health has checked all children in this age group in the city with about 1 million children.
Soc Son district, Hanoi city also organized vaccination for about 160 6th grade children at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Phu Lo commune). In the morning, about 50 children were present at the injection site.
In this round of vaccination, Hanoi is expected to vaccinate about 1,009,051 children, including: 157,039 children in kindergarten; 743,200 children in primary school; 102,166 children in the lower secondary school; 6,646 children aged 5-11, do not go to school but live in the city.
The implementation of vaccination for children will follow the principle of mass deployment throughout the city according to the age-reduction roadmap with the motto to ensure the right vaccination for the right subjects, safest, earliest and fastest.
