The Kremlin’s highest-paid official in 2021 is not President Vladimir Putin but his assistant Vladimir Medinsky.

Medinsky is a former culture minister, now a special assistant to the president and leader of recent peace negotiations with Ukraine, earning 106.8 million rubles – or 1.28. million dollars – last year, almost 10 times more than his boss.
