According to statistics, the whole Soc Son district has about 49,000 children from 5 to 11 years old. The district health center coordinated with the district education and training department to check that more than 19,000 students had not yet contracted COVID-19 for pre-vaccination; nearly 30,000 students have contracted COVID-19, the district health center arranged for injections in the next batch. On April 16, at health stations of communes and towns of Soc Son district, 643 students were vaccinated.

Dr. Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, said that from tomorrow morning (April 17), vaccination will take place simultaneously across the city. The route of injection gradually lowers the age (from under 12-5 years old; equivalent to 6th graders, inject first, then inject in turn from 5th grade to 1st grade and finally to 5 year old children), Ms. Tran Thi Nhi Ha affirmed. The capital has fully prepared human resources, facilities and equipment to be ready to vaccinate against COVID-19 for children from 5 to under 12 years old.

Eligible students for this round of vaccination are 6th graders (ages 11 to 11 years 10 months by birthday), who do not have COVID-19 or have COVID-19 and have been cured for more than three months.

Hanoi’s authorities check that more than 1 million children are vaccinated. In which, there are more than 157,000 children in kindergarten; 743,200 children in the primary school year 2021-2022 and more than 102,100 children in the lower secondary school (school year 2021-2022).

In addition, through statistics, there are more than 6,600 children between the ages of 5 and under 12 years old, who do not go to school but live in the city. Vaccination is carried out according to the scope of each school, then in the community for children who have not yet attended school, ensuring the right vaccination, safest, earliest and fastest.

In addition, based on the actual epidemic situation at the time of vaccination, there will be specific adjustments and priorities for each locality to ensure the best for disease prevention.

In terms of organizational form, Hanoi organizes vaccination campaigns in fixed and mobile vaccination facilities.

3 deployment locations include:

– The main injection sites are at mobile vaccination sites at schools (including junior high schools, primary schools, preschools, kindergartens, social protection centers with children from 5 to under 12 years old.. .)

– Vaccination at health stations or medical facilities eligible for vaccination: children living in the area but studying at schools in other provinces, children who do not attend school and those who are temporarily exempted from school suspension. .

– Hospital injection: for children with congenital diseases, chronic diseases in the heart, lungs, digestive system, urinary system, blood,…; abnormal auscultation; Grade 3 anaphylaxis with any allergen according to the guidance in Decision 5002/QD-BYT dated October 29, 2021 of the Ministry of Health.
