French police patrol the air in the border area

150km is the length of the coastal area between the Belgian border and the Gulf of Somme – where the French border patrol regularly checks, in order to detect and prevent human trafficking from the English Channel to the UK.

Air patrols carefully check beaches, cliffs, dunes and wooded areas. In the event that a migrant boat is detected, they will report the location, direction, number of migrants, life jackets or not to the border police command center on the ground. In the near future, France will also equip more infrared cameras for air patrols to detect camouflaged migration cases.

This year, the scale of the event was narrowed with a relatively limited number of attendees compared to the time before the epidemic. The organizers stipulate that participants can only use soft pillows and not hit hard to avoid causing injury to others.
