The bees cling to the plane’s engine, the whole flight has to be stopped to chase “uninvited” guests

The incident happened on Vietnam Airlines flight VN 1234 from Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) to Hanoi on the evening of April 16. Flight VN 1234 was scheduled to depart at 5:10 p.m., when suddenly, a swarm of bees was clinging to the engine of an Airbus 321 about to take off.

These “uninvited guests” caused flight operations to stop for about an hour for the mechanic to chase away the bees. At 18:20 on the same day, flight VN1234 of Vietnam Airlines took off from Phu Quoc to Hanoi.

This rare incident has attracted the attention of the online community. It is known that quite a few similar cases have happened. Like flight VJ320 from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc in 2019, during landing, it collided with a bird in the sky. This flight had to be 13 hours behind schedule, affecting hundreds of passengers.
