Urgently complete national key projects

The Ministry of Transport has been assigned a public investment plan by the Prime Minister this year with a total budget of more than VND 50,000 billion. This is the largest delivery plan ever and accounts for 9.7% of the national capital plan. By the end of the first quarter of this year, the whole industry has disbursed more than 7,200 billion VND, reaching more than 17% of the plan.

After more than 1 year of construction of Vinh Tuy bridge phase 2, important items have been basically completed. In which, more than 90% of piers are ready for beam connection. According to a representative of the Project Management Board, the construction volume of the whole construction site reached more than 50%.

Component projects under North-South expressway also mobilize maximum manpower and equipment to speed up construction. Many packages have been committed to over 3 months ahead of schedule.

The Ministry of Transport also said that currently, investors and project management boards have registered and will continue to disburse about VND 4,000 billion. By the end of April, the ministry will disburse more than 11,000 billion VND, equivalent to 22% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

Mr. Nguyen Danh Huy – Director of Planning and Investment Department, Ministry of Transport said: “In terms of advantages, we think the biggest is the drastic direction of the Government and localities to remove difficulties. The second and third quarters are the most favorable times in terms of weather for the transportation industry to carry out construction in the field. , there are materials and supplies increased up to 30%”.

According to the Ministry of Finance, by the end of the first quarter, the balance State budget a surplus of about 110,000 billion VND. This is an important source of funding, contributing to speeding up the progress of key projects.

Therefore, the Government requires ministries, sectors and localities to urgently review and resolutely transfer capital plans between projects that are slow to be disbursed to projects with good disbursement progress and still lacking capital.
