What is the plan for a private preschool without teachers?

Despite being reopened, many kindergarten owners in Hanoi regret not being able to open their schools because of a lack of teachers. There is a school where the principal and vice principal have to stand in class and take care of the children

Kindergarten students in Hanoi were officially allowed to return to school from April 13. However, one of the school’s most difficult difficulties, especially with the group of private schools when it reopens, is the staff of teachers and service staff.

Ms. Nguyen Ha Trang – the owner of the Kindergarten Kindergarten (Hanoi) posted an advertisement to recruit teachers in groups on Facebook with an average salary of 6.5 million VND/month.

After 3 days of posting the job advertisement, this female principal said she had not received any response or contact.

“I continue to post information, ask my relatives to search together, even increase my salary to 7.5 million VND/month, accept little profit or break even to recruit teachers, but now the school has come into operation. back but still have not received any applications.

There are no teachers, so the principal, vice principal, and the office also have to take classes and support the care of students,” said Ms. Trang.

Kindergartens are reopened, but many forest schools… lack teachers

In the same situation as finding a teacher, Ms. Nguyen Huong Lan – owner of Bong Hoa Nho kindergarten said that the prolonged Covid-19 epidemic caused many preschool teachers at her facility to switch to other jobs.

What worries this female principal the most is the lack of teachers. Opening schools without teachers will make classrooms unable to function, parents are also not assured when sending their children to school, while now I have to ask relatives in the countryside to help clean up and help with cooking because there is no one to do it.

“Not only is there a shortage of professional teachers in the classroom, the difficulty that the school is currently facing is the lack of kitchen staff because the school has been closed for nearly a year, so many people have changed jobs to make a living, this is not to blame. Now that the kindergarten is open, calling teachers and employees to return to work even though the salary is increased by 20%, many people do not want to return,” said Ms. Lan.

Not only Ms. Trang and Ms. Lan, many school owners shared that they are willing to pay higher salaries, even lower the requirements, just hoping to have staff, but it is still quite difficult to recruit teachers.

The reason is that many teachers have changed jobs, there are teachers who still love their jobs and are worried about their jobs, they are going to work in companies, if there is a leave, they have to ask for a full 30 days, so when there is an urgent announcement, many people could not manage.

Which plan for schools?

The District People’s Committee and the Ha Dong Education sector are making efforts to support schools in terms of improving facilities, signing teacher contracts, and helping kindergartens return to operation as soon as possible.

Nam Tu Liem district said that in the area, there are 50 preschools and 218 groups of children, independent kindergarten classes, the number of children studying in private schools and youth groups is higher than in public schools. Therefore, for 10 groups of private classes that have been dissolved, the district has directed public preschools to accept children of this class group, creating conditions for parents to send their children to school.

To solve the shortage of teachers, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong – Head of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Tu Liem district – said that this unit has now coordinated with a number of related units to develop a plan to organize a job session for students. specifically for preschool teachers. This job is to supplement human resources to bring preschool education activities back to normal.

According to a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, this unit will create favorable conditions to restore the activities of private and non-public children’s groups. To attract the return of preschool teachers, the Department also suggested that schools widely publicize information on recruitment needs, and at the same time organize teacher training to improve the quality of education, especially education.
