After that, the simple life of the villagers passed peacefully, everyone continued to work in the fields. On July 11, 1897 (lunar calendar), everyone was shocked when they continued to receive the terrible news: “Ba De has left, and has returned to Mr. De’s side”. Madame De is 66 years old.

To show their condolences and remember their gratitude, the villagers gathered together and agreed to name the canal through the village as Ong De canal. Over the past few hundred years, Ong De canal has always existed in the minds of residents here through the image of the canal bringing water to cool the fields and gardens…

“The name Ong De canal always reminds children and grandchildren of those who had merit in reclaiming land and establishing hamlets here,” Phuc said.
