Friendly match (April 18), Vietnam Women’s Team 2-2 Gyeongju Women’s Team KHNP

The line-up for this match of the Vietnam Women’s team includes goalkeeper Kim Thanh and defenders Hoang Thi Loan, Chuong Thi Kieu, Tran Thi Thu and Thu Thao. The two central defenders in the midfield are played by Duong Thi Van and Thai Thi Thao. In the upper line, coach Mai Duc Chung uses two strikers Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen with the support of two midfielders Bich Thuy and Tuyet Dung.

At the 7th minute, due to distraction and proactive defense, the Vietnam Women’s team conceded the first goal after the opponent’s central attack, throwing the ball into the net before the surprise of goalkeeper Kim Thanh.

But just a few minutes later, in a quick counter-attack, the Vietnam Women’s team leveled the score 1-1, scored by Hai Yen. When the first half had 10 minutes left, Huynh Nhu suddenly raised the score to 2-1 also from the quick counter-attack of the red shirt players.

The developments in the second half were somewhat coincidental. Coach Mai Duc Chung introduced Luong Thi Thu Thuong and Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha, respectively, to replace Chuong Thi Kieu and Bich Thuy. In the 80th minute, the opponent was awarded a penalty after Thu Thuong’s fierce defense. The 2-2 draw is also the final result of the friendly match between Vietnam Women’s team and Gyeongju KHNP Women’s football team.

Commenting on the match, coach Mai Duc Chung expressed satisfaction with the fitness of the students when all positions were guaranteed to play 90 minutes when assigned. “The players have improved physically and professionally. However, this is only the first cycle of the preparation process. From tomorrow, the players will practice twice a day to increase speed endurance. Standard equipment for the SEA Games is coming very close,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.

As planned, on April 21, the Vietnamese women’s team finished training for Korea, moved back to Vietnam and went straight to Cam Pha (Quang Ninh) to prepare for the 31st SEA Games.
