Kimberly Guilfoyle meets with House committee on January 6

Kimberly Guilfoylefiancee of Donald Trump Jr., met Monday with the House committee investigating the riots at the Capitol on January 6.

An earlier attempt at a self-contained, voluntary interview with her had been derailed due to an argument over who was in the room.

The commission issued a subpoena to Guilfoyle last month for information regarding attack on the US Capitol. Request to detail how Guilfoyle, a former Fox News employee who later worked for the President Donald Trumpcampaign for re-election, took place at the White House that day and spoke at the rally that preceded the riots.

The chairperson of the panel, Rep. Bennie Thompson, said in a statement at the time that the committee was seeking information from Guilfoyle on matters related to January 6, noting that she “seems to be” as well as playing an important role in organizing and raising money” for the event that preceded the riot.

The House committee has interviewed more than 800 witnesses in the ongoing investigation.

In February, the committee met with Guilfoyle for closed doors testimony that happened when Guilfoyle attorney Joseph Tacopina accused members of the panel of violating the terms of their agreement to only allow staff attorneys to be present for interviews.

Tacopina accused lawmakers of leaking information to the press and dismissed what he called “a brazen attempt to publicize a clearly baseless investigation.”

NBC News has reached out to her attorney for comment on Guilfoyle’s meeting with the committee on Monday.

Ivanka Trump, the former president’s daughter and former senior White House adviser, spent about 8 hours earlier this month testifying virtually before January 6. House Committee. Her husband, Jared Kushner, also a former White House adviser, suggested testimony to the committee at the end of last month.
