Shooting in the US, bullets flew like rain in the middle of the night party

Reuters reported that the shooting left two teenagers dead at dawn on April 17 (local time).

The two victims were all under the age of 18 while eight more were injured by gunshots and five were injured when jumping out of windows or trying to flee the scene.

The shooting happened at an Airbnb short-term rental where about 200 people – mostly minors – attended a large party.

“This shouldn’t have happened. We’re going to do everything we can to arrest those responsible,” Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said at a press conference on April 17.

According to Schubert, the evidence indicated that there were many suspects in the shooting. Investigators believe a melee may have occurred before, but did not provide further details. The identities of the two victims have not been released.

Schubert said the suspects fired at least 90 bullets. The scene was described as “very chaotic” at the time. Investigators are looking for clues and looking into the location where they obtained various weapons and ammunition casings.

Gunshots were heard both inside and outside the rental property. As a result, authorities believe the number of bullets fired could be more than 90. Police have asked witnesses and partygoers to come in for questioning and share videos or any other evidence.

Airbnb told NPR that it has reached out to the Pittsburgh Police Department and the mayor’s office to assist with the investigation.

“We condemn this alleged gun violence act. The guest who booked the room has been placed on a permanent ban by Airbnb and we will consider all legal means to hold this person accountable. responsibility” – the company stated.

Airbnb added that the party was held, but the owner of the property was unaware.

The Pittsburgh shooting took place just hours after a shooting at a shopping center in the state of South Carolina – USA left many people injured. A few days ago, a gunman also opened fire on a subway car in New York City, injuring dozens of people.
