Spring nor’easter can dump 10 inches of snow in Pennsylvania and New York

An unseasonal storm will result in “hazardous” travel conditions late Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Eight million people have been notified of winter weather from the Appalachians to upstate New York, as well as parts of Vermont and Massachusetts.

Upstream New York and far northeast Pennsylvania will see 5 to 10 inches of snow. In New England, heavy, wet snow combined with high winds can bring down power lines.

“Temperatures will be cold enough that it looks like the calendar says ‘February’ and not ‘April’,” the National Weather Service said.

The storm could also bring flooding from the Carolinas through Delaware and South Jersey. Connecticut and Long Island may also experience mild flooding.
