According to information provided by an internet party, another international undersea fiber optic cable, Asia Pacific Gateway (APG), had a problem on the S1.7 segment, about 910 km from Southeast Asia. This incident has affected international internet operations in Vietnam.

Cable management units have not yet informed network operators about repair and troubleshooting plans. Therefore, users still cannot use the network normally with international connections.

Accordingly, the APG submarine cable route was officially put into operation in December 2016 with a length of about 10,400 km, located underground in the Pacific Ocean, with the ability to provide maximum bandwidth up to 54 Tbps. It is known that the APG fiber optic route has connection points in China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

It is known that APG undersea cable is invested by Vietnamese carriers including Viettel, VNPT, FPT Telecom, CMC Telecom and is considered as a cable route that contributes to bringing a stable transmission line with a larger capacity for internet users. in Viet Nam.

Previously, in 2021, the APG submarine cable route had 4 problems, the most recent being in December 2021. Specifically, on December 5, 2021 and December 13, 2021, respectively, the APG cable had problems on two directions of connecting cables to Japan and Hong Kong (China).

On February 27, 2022, after nearly 3 months of service interruption due to problems in 2 directions of connecting cables to Japan and Hong Kong (China), the APG undersea cable route was repaired, repaired and restored. restore normal operation.
