The train compartment exploded, two workers died
Hai PhongTwo welders were repairing in the ship’s compartment when gas leaked and the ship’s compartment exploded, causing them to be seriously injured, not surviving.
The incident happened at noon on April 19, at the repair area of Hop Tien Thanh Joint Stock Company, Hop Thanh commune, Thuy Nguyen district.
The two victims are workers of the company, including Mr. Nguyen Van Kien (40 years old, Hop Thanh commune, Thuy Nguyen district) and Nguyen Van Khoi (51 years old, Quoc Tuan commune, An Duong district).

Chairman of Hop Thanh Commune People’s Committee Doan Van Thang, said Mr. Kien and Mr. Khoi are welders. The incident happened when two people were repairing at the ship’s hold of Truong Nguyen – HP 3930. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, but did not survive due to his injuries.
Hai Phong police determined that the cause of the accident was that welding workers in the ship’s tunnel did not have ventilation, leaked welding gas caught in the spark during welding, causing an explosion.
