11-year-old boy survived a terrible landslide by getting into the refrigerator

According to local media, rescuers found the boy CJ Hasme lying inside the refrigerator during a rescue operation in Barangay Kantagnos.

“I’m hungry”, Hasme said after being found.

Video shared on social networks captures Jasme being pulled out of the refrigerator after spending a night trapped in the device submerged in the mud. According to MetroJasme was with his family when a landslide caused by Tropical Storm Megi hit the village in Baybay last weekend.

When dirt and rocks flooded the house, the boy ran to the refrigerator, locked himself inside and was rescued 20 hours later.

Hasme broke his leg and is being treated at the hospital. Rescuers called the boy’s survival a miracle.

However, some members of Jasme’s family don’t seem to be as lucky as her. My mother and Jasme’s sister are still missing. The whereabouts of Jasme’s brother is unknown, but the boy appears to be still alive.

A few days earlier, another landslide hit the village where Jasme’s family lived, killing his father.

At least 172 people were killed in landslides and devastating floods in Baybay last weekend. More than 2 million people were displaced, while 207,500 people were living temporarily in evacuation centers.
