Arresting more suspects “making laws” on overloaded vehicles on Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway

On the morning of April 20, leaders of the Van Yen district police informed that the district police investigation agency had just issued a decision to arrest Dang Van Neo for 3 months in custody (SN 1994, residing in Tan Hop commune, Van Yen district). ) on the act of “abusing positions and powers while performing official duties”.

Accordingly, defendant Dang Van Neo was appointed by the Vietnam Expressway Service Joint Stock Company (VECS) as the chief toll collector at the IC14 toll station on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway from January 2022.

From receiving the assignment until March 2022, Neo followed the direction of Hoang Ngoc Khue (SN 1985, residing in residential group 6, Mau A town, Van Yen district), taking advantage of his position, for many oversized and overloaded cars running on the highway.

Before that, Van Yen district police arrested and detained Hoang Ngoc Khue (born in 1985, residing in Mau A town); Nguyen Huu Tuan Anh (born 1993, residing in Mau A town); Vu Van Hoa (born in 1990, residing in Yen Bai city) and Pham Minh Thien (born in 1992, residing in Lao Cai province) for the same crime. The accused are all officers and employees working for VECS.

On April 6, Van Yen district police arrested another Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1989, born in Hung Yen province) who is the captain of the toll collection team at IC14 toll station, Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway.

According to the testimony, the subjects asked to “make the law” an additional 100,000 VND/overloaded vehicle to pass the station. Driving oversized, overloaded if “doing the law” will not be unloaded and measure the size of the tank.

This illegal amount was collected by the target group from June 2021.
