Mistaking PS3 for a bomb, an airport had to be evacuated
A rare incident has just happened at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Because the PS3 was mistaken for a bomb, the airport had to be closed and evacuated for many hours.
The incident stemmed from a strange object that customs officers could not identify in the baggage of Delta Airlines. Despite using many specialized equipment, the yard staff still could not determine what kind of goods the black, rectangular box-shaped object was. Due to suspicions that this could be a device that could detonate, Logan International Airport immediately issued a warning and evacuated everyone from the scene.
A team of bomb disposal experts rushed to the airport with the task of clarifying what the strange object was. And after conducting an investigation, it was concluded that it was not a bomb but just a damaged PlayStation console. The model is identified as PS3, but the machine is very old and deformed. This could be the main reason why airport security staff could not identify the object.
