NBC News on April 20 cited court documents that said Bobby Joe Espinosa (39 years old), a police leader in the state Texas (America), was arrested after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from various human-run businesses Vietnam owned in this state.
Mr. Espinosa, who served as the deputy sheriff of the 4th district of Harris County in Texas, was charged with burglary. He is accused of targeting businesses run by people Vietnam operating from September 1, 2021 through March of this year, according to a complaint filed in Harris County Court.
Mr. Espinosa was accused of entering businesses in a police uniform, chasing security guards and opening drawers to get money. According to court documents, this person also entered the office and opened the slot machines to steal money.
According to the complaint, the amount Espinosa took in the amount of $2,500-30,000. NBC News’ Houston affiliate KPRC reported that Espinosa allegedly pocketed $5,700 during his visits to the facilities.
Court documents say Mr. Espinosa was arrested on April 15 and released on April 17 after posting $30,000 bail.
Mr. Espinosa has been an officer in Area 4 for over seven years. NBC News quoted a spokesman for the area as saying Espinosa was fired on the day of his arrest.
“Each of us in uniform wants to maintain pride in our agency and profession. We can only do that by fully investigating all allegations of misconduct.” , said Mr. Mark Herman, spokesman for Region 4.
