Sebastian Esposito (5 years old) stunned netizens after his parents posted a video of him being able to write in different languages.
It is known that Sebastian currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. The boy was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old and had hyperlexia. Hyperlexia is a condition that refers to children with excellent literacy skills at a young age who have a particular fascination with numbers or letters.
Sebastian can write many letters of many languages of the world.
According to Sebastian’s parents, their son started showing symptoms of hyperlexia when he was just 18 months old.
Ryan Esposito (30 years old) – the boy’s father recalls that his son has a great fascination with wooden letters. This is what he usually uses to spell everything, starting with simple words like cat and dog, to by the age of 2 he has read almost 200 words.
The boy also has autism.
After that, Sebastian began to learn the Russian, Greek, German, Armenian and Turkish alphabets.
“When he started to spell words backwards, I thought maybe he was an alien. He quickly put words together in a meaningful way. Unbelievable.
I even think my child has a memory like a camera. Anything he sees is stored in his head and never forgotten“, the boy’s father shared.
The boy has a passion for letters.
Sebastian’s parents set up a TikTok account to make more people aware of their son’s condition. Currently, their account has nearly 450,000 followers. They never thought, some videos have nearly 20 million views.
Sebastian’s mother said: “All he cares about is learning. He has many toys but they are all covered with dust. When people see what he’s doing, they think we’re forcing him to learn, but that’s not the case. All because of the boy’s preferences“.
The boy can write anywhere.
In some of the content posted by Sebastian’s parents, netizens were surprised to see that the boy was able to write the entire alphabet or any font on Microsoft Word. He can even name countries, capitals, and national flags around the world.
Although very proud of their son’s talent, Sebastian’s parents also had troubles in their hearts.
“He cannot speak in words, which causes many difficulties in communication. If the boy falls or injures himself, it is difficult for the parents to know. It’s really hard because he can’t even put on his own shoes“, the boy’s mother shared.
The boy’s parents just wanted his son to be healthy.
Sebastian’s father also recounted that, at the time of his son’s birth, he was told by the doctor that if the baby did not come out within 30 minutes, both mother and child would hardly survive. Fortunately, the mother and daughter survived, but the doctor also reminded that his son’s life would be difficult later.
When the doctor announced that, Sebastian’s parents did not care, all they wanted was to see their baby born safely and healthy.
Sebastian’s father added: “Seeing my son grow up like this every day is a blessing“.
Although the boy is autistic and has a rare condition, for Sebastian’s parents, seeing his baby healthy is more important than anything else.
