The whole country added 13,271 new Covid-19 cases, Hanoi alone has more than 1,000 cases

The National System of Case Management of Covid-19 today recorded 13,271 new cases in 61 provinces and cities, all of which were domestic infections (10,436 F0 communities). Compared to yesterday, the total number of cases decreased by 229 cases.

Localities recorded the largest decrease in the number of infections compared to the previous day: Ho Chi Minh City (-378), Hai Duong (-187), Yen Bai (-99). Localities recorded the highest number of infections compared to the previous day: Gia Lai (+280), Lam Dong (+263), Bac Giang (+243). Average number of new infections in the country recorded in the past 7 days: 16,429 cases/day.

Up to now, the total number of Covid-19 patients in the country is 10,502,590 cases, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories. Particularly for the fourth epidemic (from April 27), there were 10,494,842 more cases due to domestic transmission.

The localities with the highest cumulative number of infections in this epidemic: Hanoi (1,536,828), Ho Chi Minh City (607,699), Nghe An (477,687), Binh Duong (383,022), Bac Giang (381,519).

Regarding the treatment situation, on April 20, the Ministry of Health announced 2,540 Covid-19 patients recovered. The total number of cured F0 is currently 9,068,234 cases, and 1,434,356 F0 is being treated.

The number of Covid-19 patients who died in a day was 7 cases, of which: Binh Dinh (1), Can Tho (1), Dak Lak (1), Dong Thap (1), Gia Lai (1), Lang Son (1), Vinh Long (1).

Up to now, Vietnam has had 42,982 deaths from Covid-19, accounting for 0.4% of total infections. The average number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days is 15 cases. The total number of deaths ranked 24/227 territories, the number of deaths per 1 million people ranked 130/227 countries and territories in the world. Compared with Asia, the total number of deaths ranked 6/49 (3rd in ASEAN), deaths per 1 million people ranked 25/49 Asian countries and territories (ranked 4th in ASEAN).

From April 27, 2021 to now, the whole country has tested 39,432,762 patient samples, equivalent to 85,724,870 turns of people, an increase of 12,094 samples compared to the previous day.

Regarding the vaccination situation, yesterday, April 19, there were 291,030 doses of Covid-19 vaccine injected. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 210,107,957 doses, of which:

Number of injections for people aged 18 and over is 192,760,088 doses: 1st dose is 71,415,924 doses; dose 2 is 68,553,334 doses; dose 3 is 1,505,660 doses; the additional dose is 15,086,305 doses; booster dose is 36,198,865 doses.

The number of doses for children aged 12-17 is 17,259,049 doses: 1st dose is 8,836,829 doses; dose 2 is 8,422,220 doses.

Number of doses for children from 5-11 years old is 88,820 doses (1st dose).
