Artist Truong The Thanh, who specializes in dubbing Chinese historical dramas, has passed away

Artist Truong The Thanh was born in 1959 in Phuoc Hai commune (Long Dat district – Ba Ria – Vung Tau province). Originally a musician, but once the film crew needed a voice for a role, his friend invited him to join. Although she has never studied acting, but only looking at the way of acting, The Thanh was able to voice perfectly. Since then, he has been known and invited by many directors to collaborate on voice acting in films.

When Hong Kong’s TVB historical dramas were introduced to Vietnam in the 90s of the last century, The Thanh joined the voice acting crew with other artists such as Bich Ngoc, Nguyen Vinh, Ba Nghi, Thu Huong, Minh Huong… to form the group “Specializing in treatment” of TVB’s series.

In particular, The Thanh is often chosen to voice some famous Hong Kong actors such as Au Duong Chan Hoa, Huynh Nhat Hoa… and with only voice acting, he breathed the character’s soul, creating adding attraction to these films not only in Vietnam but also exported to overseas Vietnamese around the world.

When the TVB series declined, many colleagues quit, but artist The Thanh continued to pursue the dubbing profession. There are not many Hong Kong films to dub, The Thanh takes jobs to read commercials, dub films, voiceovers…

Recently, The Thanh was infected with COVID-19 and had to be hospitalized for treatment. However, due to a history of lung disease, he did not survive and died on the evening of April 20, at the age of 64. His coffin is currently located at his home in Binh Thanh district – Ho Chi Minh City.

The ceremony to visit artist The Thanh will last until April 25, and then the coffin will be cremated at Phuc An Vien cemetery (Thu Duc City – Ho Chi Minh City).
