China arrests former Justice Minister on suspicion of taking bribes
China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) on April 21 ordered the arrest of Fu Zhenghua – the country’s former Justice Minister – on charges of “suspected of taking bribes and circumventing the law for profit.”
According to SPP, the case has now been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for prosecution, following an investigation by China’s State Supervision Commission.
Associated Xinhua News AgencyHo knew that Fu Zhenghua used to hold the position of Vice Minister of Public Security of China, before holding the position of Justice Minister in 2018.
Fu Zhenghua has been in charge of a number of investigations involving high-profile figures, including an investigation into former Chinese Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang, who was found guilty of corruption.
