China proposes Global Security Initiative at Boao Forum for Asia

Chinese President Xi Jinping attended and delivered an online speech at the opening session Boao Forum for Asia 2022 on April 21.

In his opening remarks, President Xi Jinping called for making Asia a fulcrum for world peace, the engine of global growth and a new model for international cooperation. He noted that countries, whether inside or outside the region, should pursue the path of peace and development, seek win-win cooperation, and contribute to building a united, progressive Asia.

The Chinese leader affirmed that no difficulty is enough to stop the wheel of history. To overcome difficulties and reach a bright future, the greatest strength lies in cooperation and the most effective way is through solidarity.

Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that the world should respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and pay attention to the legitimate security concerns of all countries.

Notably, President Xi Jinping, through this year’s speech, proposed the Initiative global security to promote security around the world.

The Global Security Initiative also supports the commitment to realize the vision of common, inclusive, cooperative and sustainable security and joint efforts to maintain world peace and security; non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, respecting the development path and social system independently chosen by the people of the countries; adheres to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, rejects Cold War mentality and opposes unilateralism.

The annual Boao Forum for Asia 2022 takes place in 3 days (April 20-22) in Hainan province, China, with the theme “Epidemics and the world: Joining hands to promote global development, building common future”. With more than 30 sub-forums and activities, the forum discusses the issues of concern to the international community today, namely the world economic recovery and sustainable development after the pandemic.

Attending this Forum, there were more than 300 guests who are leaders of many countries in the region, politicians, heads of international organizations, experts, scholars, business leaders directly or directly. line.
