According to Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post (SCMP), the drills involve marines and other special combat units.

Video shown on China Television (CCTV) shows at least a dozen ZTD-05 armored amphibious vehicles sending marines to attack a simulated base.

Meanwhile, paratroopers landed on the island from a Z-8 transport helicopter shortly after the marines wiped out all important military targets.

The paratroopers are said to operate sophisticated equipment to communicate with combat helicopters. The drill ended after armed helicopters staged full-scale strikes to destroy all key military targets of the enemy, based on intelligence from paratroopers.

It is worth noting that the clips were aired this week, coinciding with the time that Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe had a phone call with his US counterpart Lloyd Austin on April 20. This is a phone call between two ministers after nearly 21 months.

During the phone call, MrWei said the US should not underestimate China’s determination and capabilities.

The militaries of the two countries should enhance mutual trust, strengthen dialogue and exchange, manage risks and crises, and carry out practical cooperation to ensure the normal and stable development of the two countries. bilateral military relations.

Mr. Wei also stressed that Taiwan is part of China and no one can change this fact.

If the Taiwan issue is not handled properly, it will damage Sino-US relations, and the Chinese military resolutely safeguards national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
