Covid-19 news today April 21, Vietnam added 12,029 cases of Covid-19, down 1,242 cases
The Ministry of Health said that in the past 24 hours, the whole country recorded 12,029 new Covid-19 cases in 59 provinces and cities, a decrease of 1,242 cases compared to yesterday. All new cases were recorded in the country, with 9,074 community cases.

Dak Nong Department of Health registered an additional 18,545 cases of Covid-19 after reviewing the information.
The localities where the number of infections decreased the most compared to the previous day: Gia Lai (down 168), Son La (down 163), Vinh Phuc (down 104).
The localities that recorded the highest number of infections compared to the previous day: Hai Duong (up 140), Dak Nong (up 105), Da Nang (up 75).

Thus, since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has 10,533,164 infections, ranking 12 out of 227 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 110/ 227 countries and territories.
During the 4th epidemic (from April 27, 2021 to present), the whole country had 10,525,416 cases, 9,074,110 patients were declared cured. The localities with high cumulative infections include Hanoi (1,537,814), Ho Chi Minh City (607,793), Nghe An (478,198), Binh Duong (383,101), Bac Giang (382,069).
Regarding the treatment situation, the whole country has 9,076,927 cases who have recovered from the disease. Currently, there are 96 patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation, 2 patients running ECMO.
From 17:30 on April 20 to 17:30 on April 21, 9 deaths were recorded in: Dong Nai (2), Dak Lak (1), Kien Giang (1), Lam Dong (1), Soc Trang (1) , Tay Ninh (1), Tra Vinh (1), Vinh Long (1).
The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam so far is 42,991 cases, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections; ranked 24th out of 227 territories, 6th/49th compared to Asia and 3rd in ASEAN. The number of deaths per 1 million people ranks 130/227 countries and territories in the world
Regarding the testing situation, from April 27, 2021 to now, 39,475,987 samples have been taken for 85,770,895 turns of people.
Regarding the vaccination status, the total number of doses of vaccine administered is 210,560,185 doses. In there:
– Number of injections for people aged 18 years and over is 193,157,190 doses: 1st dose is 71,421,980 doses; The second dose is 68,568,543 doses; The third dose is 1,505,706 doses; The additional dose was 15,103,741 doses; The booster dose is 36,557,220 doses.
– Number of doses for children aged 12-17 is 17,276,166 doses: 1st dose is 8,845,785 doses; The second dose is 8,430,381 doses.
– Number of doses for children from 5-11 years old is 126,829 doses (1st dose).
