Determining the cause of the fire that killed 5 people on Pham Ngoc Thach street

On the afternoon of April 21, talking to PV, the leader of the Hanoi City Police said that the Institute of Criminal Science (Ministry of Public Security) is coordinating with the Dong Da District Police (Hanoi) to investigate and clarify the cause of the case. The fire killed 5 people and injured 2 people at a house in lane 65 Pham Ngoc Thach street (Dong Da district).

Initially, the investigating agency determined that the fire may have originated from a short-circuit in the battery of the motorbike in the house, not from outside.

Many items burned in the house.

The two injured victims who had to be hospitalized were Mr. Bui Ngoc Lam (SN 1983) and the grandson of BQH (SN 2010, Lam’s son). Currently, both father and son Lam are being treated at the Burn Department – Saint Paul General Hospital.

Up to the present time, the child is awake, has no signs of asphyxiation and respiratory burns, he has 2% burns on his right hand. Mr. Bui Ngoc Lam’s condition is getting worse and is being closely monitored by doctors.

Doctor Nguyen Nam Giang, Head of Burns Department, Saint Paul General Hospital, said that through the examination, the doctor determined that patient Lam had 1, 2, 3 16% fire burns, burns to the face, chest, arms and legs. and there is respiratory burn, there is burning of nose hair and eyelids. There is a possibility that the patient has CO poisoning.

The house where the fire happened

Before that, at about 1:13 on April 21, a fire broke out at a house near Kim Lien dormitory area, lane 65 Pham Ngoc Thach, Kim Lien ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi city.

Immediately after receiving the news, the functional forces dispatched 1 command vehicle, 4 fire engines belonging to Dong Da District Police and Hai Ba Trung District Police to the scene.

At 1:18 a.m. on the same day, the Fire and Rescue Police Force approached the scene of the fire.

At the fire area, 2 people escaped to the roof of the 2nd floor next door, the Fire and Rescue Police force deployed a ladder to bring it from the roof to a safe location.

However, 5 other people in the house died from smoke inhalation. Among the victims were both the elderly and children.

Right in the morning of the same day, the functional forces conducted a blockade of the house on fire at Lane 65 Pham Ngoc Thach, Kim Lien ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi for examination and investigation.

The Hanoi police said that the fire occurred at night, and the small, secretive, and tube-shaped cottage expanded, causing heat to rise and smoke to rise rapidly, resulting in the deaths of five people.
