On August 17, 2019, Chien borrowed THQ’s Suzuki Swift car (SN 1988, residing in Hai Ba Trung district), then drove to Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh’s pawn shop (SN 1964, in Long Bien district) to sell it. 200 million dong.

When being asked for a car, Chien gave Mr. Q. 10 million VND with a motorbike and then asked him to rent a Ford Ranger car for Chien’s friend on a business trip. In fact, this car was sold by Chien to Mr. Thanh for 450 million VND.

On September 19, 2019, Mr. Q called to urge Chien to return the Ford Ranger pickup. Chien reasoned that his friend still needed a vehicle, so he told Mr. Q to borrow another car temporarily for you to use, in exchange for a Ford Ranger.

Mr. Q then agreed to borrow more Kia Cerato for Chien to exchange, but again the defendant brought it to the pawn shop as a pledge to redeem the Mazda 3 that the defendant had sold to Mr. Thanh.

At the end of November 2019, Mr. Q made a complaint against Nguyen Van Chien’s fraudulent behavior.

The prosecution determined, 3 cars Suzuki Swift, Ford Ranger and Kia Cerato, Chien asked Mr. Q to rent for him, with a total value of more than 1 billion VND. The vehicle has been returned to the owner.

For Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh, who bought 4 cars brought by Chien when the origin of the papers was not clearly identified, the investigating agency decided to separate the records for later processing.
