House fire in Hanoi, 5 people died

The functional forces are investigating and clarifying the fire that killed 5 people in Kim Lien ward (Dong Da, Hanoi).

On April 21, according to the Hanoi City Police, at about 1:13 a.m. on the same day, the functional forces received news that a fire had occurred at house 116 B9 Kim Lien, lane 65 Pham Ngoc Thach, Kim Lien ward, district Dong Da.

Soon after, the fire department arrived at the scene to put out the fire. The fire was determined to have occurred on the 1st floor of the 3-storey house of Mrs. D.TM’s house (adjacent to B9 Kim Lien collective house, Kim Lien ward). By 1:23 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished.

In the fire area, Mr. BNL (SN 1983, son of Mrs. M) and grandson of BQH (Mr. L’s son) escaped to the roof of the second floor next door. The functional forces used ladders to bring these two people down to a safe location, at the same time fighting the fire and searching for victims.

House fire kills 5 people

On the 2nd floor of the house, the police discovered that BGH (Mr L’s son) was still breathing, so he was taken to the emergency room at Saint Paul General Hospital, but the victim did not survive.

The fire caused 4 deaths at the scene including Mrs. D.TM (homeowner), Mrs. D.MH (SN 1985, daughter-in-law of Ms. M), Mr. BNK (SN 1985, biological son of Mrs. M), grandson of BNP (SN: SN 1985, Mrs. M’s biological son) 2012, his son L) and one person who died at the hospital was the grandson of BGH (SN 2021, his son L).

Reported by PV, on the morning of April 21, functional forces were present at the house where the fire broke out to investigate and clarify the cause.

The fire destroyed materials, goods and utensils in Mrs. M.’s family such as wood, planks, plastic and motorbikes. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

On the morning of April 21, the People’s Committee of Hanoi issued an urgent document requesting investigation and handling of the consequences of the fire that caused 5 deaths and 2 injuries in Kim Lien ward. Accordingly, the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee assigned the City Police to direct the units to investigate the cause of the fire, handle violations according to law provisions, and assign the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. Dong Da District People’s Committee coordinated with relevant agencies to visit, encourage and support the families of the victims. The results will be reported to the City People’s Committee before April 25.
