Internet and television bring “huge” money to FPT in the first quarter of 2022-Information Technology

Internet and pay TV services belong to the Telecommunications segment of FPT Corporation.

FPT Technology Group has just announced its financial report for the first quarter of 2022. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2022, this group recorded VND 9,730 billion in revenue and VND 1,779 billion in pre-tax profit, up 28.3% and 27.4% respectively over the same period last year, with dynamics The main force comes from the Technology and Telecommunications segments.

The Technology and Telecommunications segment has helped the technology “big” FPT win big in the first quarter of 2022.

Specifically, the technology sector (including domestic IT services and overseas IT services) brought in VND 5,593 billion in revenue and VND 770 billion in pre-tax profit for FPT Corporation, up 34.6% respectively. and 39.2% over the same period last year. The technology segment currently contributes 57% of revenue and 43% of pre-tax profit, maintaining the position of this group’s main business segment.

In foreign markets, sales increased in all regions, especially the US market and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Contracts signed at the end of 2021 with major customers in the US have begun to reflect revenue growth of 60% in this market. In the Japanese market, FPT recorded a growth of 19.7% in revenue (in Japanese yen).

Only in the first 3 months of the year, FPT had 7 large projects with the scale of over 5 million USD/project, up 75% compared to the same period last year. The strategy of “whaling hunting” continued to be effective, with new registration revenue in foreign markets reaching VND 7,057 billion, up 57% over the same period.

Overall, revenue from IT services in foreign markets reached VND 4,111 billion, profit before tax of VND 667 billion, up 29.7% and 34.9% respectively over the same period.

In the domestic market, IT services recorded VND 1,481 billion in revenue and VND 103 billion in pre-tax profit, up 50.3% and 75.5% respectively over the same period. Profit from Pay TV continued to increase, contributing to the improvement of profit margin of Telecommunication Services segment from 18.7% to 19.1%.

“After encouraging achievements in 2021, FPT continues to set a sustainable growth target with revenue increasing by 19% to VND 42,420 billion and profit before tax increasing by 20.2% to VND 7,618 billion.
