On April 21, Russian news agency Sputnik reported, Russia has warned that it has the right to respond appropriately to sanctions imposed by the West on Russia since the start of its special military operation in Ukraine.

Accordingly, the latest Russian sanctions affect 26 Americans who Russia says are involved in creating anti-Russian sentiment in the US, including Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Douglas Craig Emhoff.

Also on the Russian sanctions list are Pentagon chief of staff John Kirby, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, ABC host George Stephanopoulos, LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky and journalist David Ignatius.

In addition, Moscow also announced new sanctions against 61 Canadian citizens, in response to the economic measures that the government of this country imposed on Russia.
